About the Team:

We are a six to eight horse and rider military-style mounted drill team based out of Callander Hall Equestrian Center in New Maryland, New Brunswick. Our members are of all ages and backgrounds, but are all students of Callander Hall practicing the English riding disciplines of hunter, jumper, eventing, and dressage. Our mounts are of various breeds, sizes, and ages; although most belong to the riding school, each rider on the team has a special relationship with their particular mount.

"The Collision” performs an approximate 10 minute ride to popular music. We change our routine every few months to keep our horses and riders on their toes. Some of the themes of the past have included ”Queen’s Greatest Hits”  and “Favorites of the 80s”. Both horses and riders enjoy the upbeat music! Patterns performed include the “thread the needle”, “pinwheel”, “maze”, and “cavalry cross” plus some of our own invention. Our colours are black and gold; we dress in black uniforms with gold trim, and the horses are outfitted to match.

Members of the team participate because they enjoy riding, for comraderie, and to improve their riding skills by practicing the intricate movements. We hope the audience has as much fun as we do!
